Baptism
Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation in the Catholic Church and the beginning of a person’s life of faith. Through water and the invocation of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—we are welcomed into the Church, united with Christ, and claimed as beloved children of God.
Baptism is not just a ritual—it is a lifelong journey. It marks the moment when God’s grace is poured out freely, and the Church promises to walk with the newly baptized as they grow in faith. For children, parents and godparents commit to nurturing that faith; for adults, Baptism is a personal response to God’s invitation.
Adults who wish to become Catholic do so through a process known as Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA). For infants and young children, baptismal services are held most Sundays at 12:15pm in church, following the 11:00am Mass. You can make arrangements for the Baptism by contacting or visiting the parish office at least one month in advance. The suggested donation for a baptism is $50.
First-time parents and parents new to our Parish must attend a baptismal preparation meeting on the third Wednesday, at 7:00pm of any month prior to the Baptism. These meetings are held in the parish office building; there is no cost but please pre-register with the parish office in advance. Godparents are encouraged to attend the preparation meeting as well.
